Hot Leaves Self-Treatment

Even in the countries of Eastern Europe, the services of a bath attendant are a very expensive service – an element of luxury. In many cases, sauna lovers use hot leaves to treat themselves or to help each other.
Our ability to provide hot leaf massage is extremely limited due to the shortage of qualified professionals, so we pay special attention to teaching our guests self-service techniques.
In an introductory session, we will demonstrate the basic techniques for handling hot leaves and maintaining a steam room.
You can practice techniques on yourself or with your friends or partner.
Each participant is given their own broom, which, if properly cared for and used can be used for subsequent visits to the sauna.
We are still looking for a location with a sauna. Sauna ceremonies and hot-leaves treatments were the heart of Hot Rock Spa, and we haven’t given up on them — we hope, and quietly dream, of bringing real sauna services back to Ottawa one day.
